Become a friend

You can always count on your friends! This applied to Rembrandt and certainly applies to The Rembrandt House Museum. Thanks to our loyal Society of Friends we have been able to realize many projects and wonderful acquisitions. As Friend you become part of the inner circle of the museum and help build the future of the museum. For 75 euros you can become a Friend together with one other person (or make someone else a Friend).  On this page you can read more about how to do this and which privileges you receive.

NEW | If you become a friend now and you will receive a unique, hand-printed etching after one of Rembrandt’s etching plates! We hope we may count your friendship during these turbulent times.

The Rembrandt House Museum was started at the beginning of the twentieth century as a citizen’s initiative. This still an important aspect of our museum, and by becoming a Friend of the museum you can contribute to the long history of private support. Especially in this time of crisis we urgently need your help.

The Rembrandt House Museum has an active Society of Friends. Together we support this special museum, the house in which for nearly twenty years Rembrandt lived and worked, loved and made his masterpieces. As Friend you become part of the inner circle of the museum, support various initiatives in the museum and help build its future.

Friendship brings advantages

For 75 euros per year (for two persons) you become part of an engaged group of people with a common interest in Rembrandt and hsi time, in art and culture. But you also get more:

  • Free admission to the museum and all exhibitions
  • Invitations to special guided tours of new exhibitions for Friends
  • Invitations to the Rembrandt Extra events: exclusive talks in the Rembrandt House followed by a networking gathering over drinks, especially for friends
  • Invitations to talks and other museum events
  • 10% discount on all items in the museum store and the webshop

Because of the corona crisis it is presently not possible to proceed with all planned events (please monitor our website for all updates). Therefore, you will instead receive a unique, hand-printed etching as a gift if you now take a Friends membership.

Looking to do more?

The Society of Friends of The Remrandt House Museum is a culturele ANBI. Gift of up to 2.500 euros are thereby 125% deductible. Read more here for the information concerning the ANBI-legislation and here about how you can further support the museum via the Friends by means of bequest or (regular) donation.
