The Rembrandt House Museum has an active Association of Friends. Together we support this special museum, the house where the most famous Dutch artist of the seventeenth century lived and worked for 20 years. We will support renovation projects of Museum Rembrandthuis in the coming years.
The Association of Friends of the Rembrandt House is a ‘public benefit organisation’ (PBO). In the context of the regulation applicable on 1 January 2014, we would like to provide you with the information below.

The association (like the museum) is recognized by the tax authorities as a ‘public benefit organisation’ (PBO).

2016-2018
Contribution to the renovation of the Small Office and Print Room: €35,000.
2015
Acquisition of etching, ‘Old man with beard, fur hat and velvet cloak’ by Rembrandt van Rijn (ca. 1631) at €9,936.
Acquisition of etching, ‘Gideon’s sacrifice’ by Ferdinand Bol at €7,500, made possible in part by a bequest from mr. P. Mats.
Contribution book, Rembrandts Reading Bible at €10,000.
Funding contributions to the publication ‘Chronicle of the Rembrandt House’ approx. € 1,750 per publication year; period 2000-2014 (incl. provision) at €26,250.
Funding for public expenditure at the exhibition ‘That can be better! Rembrandt and the old masters’ and contribution to the purchase of painting Esaias Boursse (1631-1672) (attributed) ‘The painter’s studio’ at €4000.
Contribution to the purchase of the Rombout Uylenburgh grisaille painting (ca.1580/5 – 1627/8) ‘Joash anointed king by the high priest Jojado’ (ca.1620; pendant of the 2005 acquisition) at €10,000.
Contribution to the color catalog of the exhibition ‘Drawing in Rembrandt’s Time: Masterpieces from the Hamburger Kunsthalle’ at €8,000.
Second part contribution to the purchase of painting Pieter Fransz. de Grebber at €10,000.
First part contribution to the purchase of painting Pieter Fransz.de Grebber (ca.1600 – 1652/53) ‘The reinstatement of Nebuchadnezzar as king of Babylon’ (ca.1630) at €12,000.
First part contribution to the purchase of painting Pieter Fransz.de Grebber (c.1600 – 1652/53) ‘The reinstatement of Nebuchadnezzar as king of Babylon’ (c.1630) at €12,000.
Contribution for a new picture book for youth at €675.
The funding of lectures in connection with the Rembrandt jubilee year at €18,230.
Second part of the contribution to the purchase of painting Rombout Uylenburgh at €10,000.
First part contribution to the purchase of Rombout Uylenburgh’s grisaille painting (ca.1580/5 – 1627/8) ‘Athalia expelled from the temple’ (ca.1620) at €4550.
Contribution to the development costs of the etching course and third part of the contribution to the refurbishment of the Rembrandt kitchen at €5,050.
Contribution to the French translation of the etching catalog and second part contribution to the refurbishment of the Rembrandt kitchen at €10,200.
First part contribution for refurbishment of the Rembrandt kitchen at €20,420.
Purchase two antique 17th-century stoves for the refurbishment of Rembrandt’s studio for €33,000.
