Last Monday evening, the 8th of May, our new exhibition Rembrandt and Jan Six. The Etching and the Friendship was festively opened in the museum. After a warm welcome by our museum director Lidewij de Koekkoek, our guests of honour Jan Six X and Geert Mak (author of the bestseller The Lives of Jan Six) were interviewed. We thank all our guests that evening and many thanks go out to guest curator Menno Jonker, the loaners and subsidiaries who made this exhibition possible.
Rembrandt and Jan Six. The Etching and the Friendship is now open for the public. Discover the many states of Rembrandt’s famous etching of Jan Six from 1647, the original copper plate, the preliminary studies and the many imitations that followed. More information about this exhibition can be found on our exhibition page.
